Research Paper Topic.

The topic I chose to write my research paper on is teen pregnancy and its effects. I believe this is important because this not a national issue, but also a local issue within the city. Teens are acting very irresponsibly, and I believe they are ignorant the subject and need to learn about pregnancy before they jump into a situation that they may not be able to work out the way they think they can.

As I’d mentioned before, most teens are ignorant to the subject of teen pregnancy (even though most might beg to differ), and don’t realize that they are actually creating another life until it’s too late; by the time they realize it, reality has already hit them.

There are many downsides to teen pregnancy that most people fail to realize. The infant mortality rate is at an all-time high in result of the number of teen pregnancies in today’s time. Also, there are many STDs going around that some of the teens that get pregnant can possibly pass it to their infant during the birth if not addressed; I know for a fact most people don’t think about that when considering teen pregnancy.

There are many girls that I graduated with that are apart of the teen pregnancy static, and I feel like the situation can be improved if it’s taught about more. I feel very strongly about this situation, not necessarily for the sake of the teen mothers and fathers, but for the sake of the children that they are carelessly making.
